This place poem takes place at the desk I had in high school, a big old drafting desk my great-grandfather made for my own father back when he was in high school.
This is a memory poem, based off of the many times I had books taken away in elementary school because I was forever reading under the desk. Don't make a funny face—they were always more interesting than the lesson.
This poem's narrator is, if you couldn't tell, a daydreamer, who spends their days letting their mind wander to impossibly fantastic places.
This poem is a sensory poem. It cuts off all senses besides that of hearing. No sight, no feel, just sound.
This is the much-edited version of "A Cloak of Wolf Skin" which can be found on the home page. It's a twisted version of "Little Red Riding Hood" where the wold gets his much-deserved revenge.
