This is my home for Foods!

Hey everybody! As you may be able to tell, is for my Foods and Nutrition class, from from my sophomore year of high school. For the assignment, we're suposed to have somewhere that tells why we think it's important to be taking this class as a high school student. Therefore, I'l be putting that here!

Honestly (not even because I'm assigned to do so!), I think that it is really important that this class is taken. Not only does it help with home skills, it help with teamwork skills.

I grew up with both homemade and non-homemade food—certain times of my life have had more of one or the other, but the past few years it's been more of a balance. I can tell you that homemade is always better than the alternative 95% of the time (there's been a few times when things didn't turn out quite right...or it was just an awful recipe...blech!), but it's a good garuantee that homemade will take the cake—sometimes quite literally! For example, I have grown up eating homemade jam on everything, and now, that storebought jelly yuck makes me gag—I cannot eat it!

Also, it seems that less and less people know how to properly work together as time goes on—problem is, that's a necessary skill for many jobs. Plus, knowing how to make something means that you can have it whenever you want, for the most part—and it also means you can make things to not only your taste, but that of your friends and family, too. And that, that is always a wonderful thing.

My Food Rule: Natural. Homemade. Moderation. Those are the three keys.

Hello! My name is Sayle, and I created this website back in my freshman year of high school as a place to put my writing, specifically the pieces I've written for school. I've wanted to be a novelist since second grade, and I've been a huge book-lover since before kindergarten. As of November 2016, I completed the first draft of my first novel. I'm currently working on the sequel, as well as several side stories featuring minor characters from the original novel. I hope to be able to get my extended universe, known comprehensively as The Elemental Spiral, published, or on it's way to being published, after I graduate high school. In total, I've written four books, two novels and two novellas, in addition to various shorter pieces.
